description

On the first day, we’ll depart Santiago and head 100 km into the heart of the Andes to a hidden corner of Cajón del Maipo. There, we’ll hike for about an hour to uncover an astonishing find: the fossilized footprints of a juvenile sauropod dating back 160 million years, to the Jurassic period! This lesser-known area preserves the traces of a dinosaur that stood 10 meters tall, potentially reaching 45 meters in adulthood. We’ll explore a fossil beach and see desiccation cracks that transport us to prehistoric times. Later, we’ll visit a hidden mountain lagoon—its beauty and tranquility will surprise you. That night, we’ll stay in Vitamonti’s unique zomes, inspired by local fossils for an immersive mountain experience. Day two features an exhilarating rock climbing adventure amid active volcanoes and massive rock walls—this is pure mountain spirit!
