description
Ski touring—or “randonnée”—involves gliding over snow using specialized skis that allow you to ascend by walking and then ski down. It doesn’t require ski lifts and can be enjoyed by anyone with basic skiing skills, as long as they have the proper equipment and instruction. Ski touring allows you to climb mountains on skis, fully experience the landscapes, and descend on untouched snow with a thrilling sense of freedom. The Andes offer countless opportunities to explore. Whether you’re out for a day or a week, there are options for all skill levels—from intermediate to expert. On this tour, we’ll spend two days skiing in the Andes, learning the fundamentals of ski touring. At night, we’ll rest in the zomes of Vitamonti, surrounded by breathtaking mountains and immersed in a unique architectural experience. Day two includes a day of skiing in the Valle de Las Arenas with snowmobiles to assist access.
